PROJECT PROMOTING ACTIONS
“RACOS - Responsibility, Access, Cooperation, Opportunities and Support” promoting actions continues as the target group completes with the locals from the community in the villages of Mateiaș and Racoșul de Jos.
The team involved in project implementation organized meetings on the 5th and 11th Mai 2020 with locals from gipsy communities from the two villages to present the project, main activities and the partners. Free discussions were held regarding locals` necessities and requests, marking the importance of implementing the project into these communities as well as the appreciation from involved participants.
The meeting in Mateiaș was held in the local school, which allowed the participation of the teachers involved in promoting the project into the community. In La Racoșul de Jos the meeting was held by project partners` representatives, with the support of the local facilitator. This allowed the attendance of multiple parties as well as completing the project target group list.
Brașov Agency for Sustainable Development (ADDJB), as project leader, implements the project “RACOS - Responsibility, Access, Cooperation, Opportunities and Support” - project code PN4066 since 15th September 2021, in partnership with ACASĂ Care Association, SCUT Social Services Association and Brașov General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection.
The project benefits of a grant of € 931,205 from Norway threw Norway Grants within the Local Development Program for implementing integrated measures for local community development, to enhance living standards and increasing access to complex social, medical, educational, employment and housing services developed through the project for 500 people from vulnerable families and lone children, simultaneously with raising awareness, sensitizing and raising awareness about the importance of supporting vulnerable groups in the community, representatives of local institutions and people belonging to the majority population in Racoș commune.

Non-formal education sessions for children, parents / guardians and young people
On 16th February 2022, the Social Services Association SCUT has organised the first session of non-formal education for children, parents / guardians and young people, within the "RACOS - RESPONSIBILITY, ACCESS, COOPERATION, OPPORTUNITIES AND SUPPORT" project, code PN4066.
The project is implemented starting 15th September 2021 by the partnership betwen the Brașov Agency for Sustainable Development (ADDJB) - project lider, Care Association ACASĂ, Social Services Association SCUT and General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection and it fenefits of a grant of 931.205 Euros offered by Norway through Norwegian Grants under the Local Development Program.
The first non-formal education session for children, parents / guardians and young people took place in the Cultural Center from Mateiaș village, Racoș commune and it was dedicated to presenting the project and the offered services. Future servicies and activities provided by SCUT were discussed, among expectations and locals` personal needs.
These sessions are dedicated to 460 people in Racoș which are part of the target group and will benefit from the following activities:
- children age 3-6 will participate in preschool activities, development of motor skills, fine motor skills, vocabulary development;
- children age 7-14 will attend remedial education and non-formal education workshops, emphasising discrimination, bullying, self-esteem, addictions, sex education, independent living skills, nutrition and so on;
- youth age 15-24 will attend non-formal education workshops, with a focus on self-esteem, addictions, sex education, independent living skills, nutrition and so on;
- adults, children's parents/tutors will attend non-formal education activities and, together with the children, on themed trips.

Information sessions on combating discrimination
On 16th February 2022, Brașov Agency for Sustainable Development (ADDJB) has organised the first information session on combating discrimination, within the "RACOS - RESPONSIBILITY, ACCESS, COOPERATION, OPPORTUNITIES AND SUPPORT" project, code PN4066.

The first information session on combating discriminationtook place in the Racoșul de Jos school, attended by children from middle school. These sessions are addresed to all pupils from Racoș schools, public and private sector employees from the two villages of the commune, and other interested induvuduals from the surroundings. The aim is to facilitate the integration of marginalized people in the target group and to reduce prejudices and stereotypes.
