Tourism Policies for Sustainable Development
Financing source: Operational Program Administrative Capacity 2014-2020, Priority Axes Public Administration and efficient law system Component 1 - CP2/2017 – NGO and social partners` growth of capacity to formulate alternative public policies; Operation – Development and introduction of systems and common standards in public administration that optimize decision-making processes, targeting citizens and business environment according to SCAP.
The total value of the project is 955,906.30 lei, of which 951,743,68 lei eligible value and 4,162.62 lei not eligible value, including associated VAT.
Project duration: 16 months
The project is implemented in partnership with APDT – Association for tourism promoting and development in Brașov County and ADER - Regional and Economic Development Association. The project is in progress based on financing contract POCA/111/1/1/111701 from 11.05.2018 – Tourism Policies for Sustainable Development.
The project focuses on enhancing the quality and efficiency of activities/actions that involve NGOs from the field of tourism in conceiving and promoting alternative proposals to policies initiated by the Government with the purpose of promoting/development sustainable tourism
Therefore, the focus is on involving NGOs from the tourism field into stating and promoting alternative proposals to public policies initiated by the Government regarding issues encountered in the touristic field. The main proposals concern:
- Reducing tax evasion in the hotel industry
- Security measures in the national tourism
- Ensure tour packages
- Law regarding NGO`s status; tourism law
The extended goal is the development of specific abilities regarding the involvement of the NGO`s employees together with social partners into elaborating and promoting alternative proposals to public policies initiated by the Government. In this regard, formation courses will be held – advocacy and lobby - to understand the process of formulating public policies. Moreover, to correctly identify and address the problems confronted by those who activate in the field, a course will be organized for managers of the Destination Management Organizations. Debates and meetings will take place, in which possible alternatives to public policies initiated by the Government will be suggested and analyzed.
Furthermore, the project aims to rise the information grade and society awareness regarding the involvement of the community in public aspects and decision-making processes.
The target group of the project consists of 270 subjects.
The estimated outcome for the project:
- 20 individuals from NGOs and social partners instructed in the fields of advocacy and lobby,
- 20 individuals trained in destination management
- Minimum 250 participants from NGOs and social partners that will attend public debates on the topic of tourism
- Elaborate at least one alternative public policy in the field of tourism
- Accept and promote at least alternative public policy in the field of tourism
- Develop a communication platform/instrument for reinforcing social and civic dialogue, platform that will be implemented nationwide.
